Rainy days and Wednesdays...

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin' around
Nothing to do but frown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.
I listened to a "Carpenters" collection late last night, can't you tell? Stars on Ice used the Carpenters music badly in last season's show, using awful covers of the classic music. I was reminded how much Karen's voice made the songs work, lovely and sweet and sad. The show also featured the least amount of skating for an ice show I had ever seen, mostly preening over microphones on how great they were, rather than reminding people with their skating.
Rain made a welcome return to my neck of the woods. There are parts of Virginia and Maryland which are experiencing severe drought conditions. Unfortunately we're getting all the rain at once. It rained almost all day long.
The rain just depressed me more thinking about the future. The job interviews keep asking that magic question "Where do you see yourself in five years?" I don't want to see myself still working as a temp. I love libraries, but realistically, I won't get any further than technician without a Master's degree. I'd love to write either as a journalist but it requires too much experience. Why did I quit journalism when I had the chance? Why didn't I find the internships rather than focusing on getting out of college in four years?
