Posting new fic panic attack

I posted my new Remember WENN fanfiction story "Lean on Me" on Wennlist and RW-FF this evening, after I received the beta comments and found a new title. The original one was a little too obvious. Cute, but a giveaway storyline wise.

Now I'm having my traditional panic attack after posting the story. Typical writer having self-doubts moments - "Oh, maybe I should have waited until I made it better" or "Should I have written that scene that way?" or the old standard wail "What if no one likes it?"

You've heard the old story of "Cricket in Times Square"? On some of my lists, crickets chirping in the dark abyss was all the feedback I heard, other than "Gee, that's neat" or "Cool story".

Not that I expect my little pieces of fanfic to start thought-provoking discussions or arguments, but it would be nice to feel like someone actually read the damn thing.

Then comes the other two traditions of fanfiction writing:
1. I sit and wait for feedback to arrive in my mailbox
2. I figure out what the hell I'm going to work on next!
