CVS moved upstairs for the writing meeting. The cafe had gotten a little too noisy and a little too unwieldy. We always feel like we're shouting to be heard over the loud music and other groups, especially if the quiet ones are on one end where the power outlets are. Once our meeting was backed by of all things noisy chess players. They had finished their game and were discussing how they might have played sequences differently. I tell myself just wait a month or less when they start the Christmas music.

In this area, this will seem like the Weekend of Nano. The Northern Virginia Nano kickoff is tonight, DC has theirs tomorrow, and CVS hosts another of its writing marathons as a Nano warmup on Sunday. I probably will beg off the DC event. I haven't had a free weekend all October! But we don't even get to start writing until next Saturday. *whimper* At least I will have World Fantasy Con and RL to make the wait seem less nerve wracking. Last year, I remember dashing off a scene at 5AM before heading out to my hellish job. Who knows what this year will bring?

Interesting piece on the Nano website about teachers using Nano in the Classroom. We never had such "cool" projects when I was in school.
