Google teaming up with MIT and other universities for scholarly text searches.: Article from Chronicle of Higher Education with some very interesting possibilities. I hope they won't limit the subject matter to just the technical and engineering papers.

Otherwise, it has been a horrible day. Nothing is going particularly right, other than sorting out my lease issue. Aside from the nonstop rain, I've had a snappish run-in with one coworker. (More on later under lock when I get home.)

Thankfully I have the prospect of a new Afternoon waiting for me at the PO Box. It's the little things that keep me going.

Rain and Afternoon

God I despise rain. If it's possible, the weather has actually worsened here in DC. The wind picked up in some places, mostly when I trying to cart home my box from Anime Station. I'd forgotten that this issue of Afternoon comes with a "Ah! My Goddeess" figure on what appears to be a broomstick. The lead story "Flowers of Hard Blood" looks interesting, including a game of shougi. I'm not sure if that is a regular feature.

I spoke to my parents tonight. Instead of inheriting the old model printer & scanner, I may be getting an upgrade instead, when they come in May. *panics, contemplating apartment*
