We make our own fun

Maybe I'm too easily amused, but I receive a forwarded version of the Daily News to html at work. Sometimes it includes instructions on certain articles that shouldn't be included for the general public, sometimes not. Today the instructions read "Nothing to kill today". Of course my first thought was... "Well, the morning is still young..."

Watching the reruns of "Another World" is like watching a daily episode of "I Love the 1980s". You see so many things that blow your mind. Some make you nostalgic for simpler times and others, like the hair and clothes, make you nod and wince. It's like "That 70s show" with more plotting and scheming. And worse it's followed up by its nighttime equivalent of "Dynasty". Oy... the shoulder pads...

But watching yesterday's episode and gleefully cheering for one favorite character's arrival, I noticed some things that made me blink. ( AW 1980s spoilerage cut )

The progidal Alphasmart

My Alphasmart finally returned home after his visit to the Home Office. Theoretically he is working shiny as new. I do intend to bring it to the PDA panel at Media West as an alternative. Alas I don't have the Palm OS shinier version to show off, but I may have flyers. I emailed Alphasmart and they sounded pretty enthusiastic about helping me out. Which is a new and novel concept with computer/gadget makers.

I'm not sure but I think someone was in my apartment while I was gone. The AC fan was switched on high which I never do. On the other hand, it was nice to come home to a cool apartment, however briefly it lasts.

I may not be done with this assignment after two weeks. I'm covering for someone coming back from worker's comp and I may be needed for a further stint. The paycheck is adequate at best, but well, better than the alternative. I'll know more Monday.
