Yesterday was so much fun.
Note to those who work in offices: If you are retiring/leaving soon and you have a whole mess of journals/materials to send back, please stagger it a little, so the poor library technician isn't overwhelmed on her hopefully last day. Thank you.
Words cannot begin to express the sheer hell I endured on my evening commute on Metro. I switched trains at Metro Center to catch my Orange line train back to Virginia. Usually I'm on time or early to the CVS meeting. When I arrived, I noticed the platform was heavier than usual. Eventually the notice board said there was a 10 minute delay from a train malfunctioning on the other end. Fine. I had plenty of time. By that time, the platform has gotten really crowded, five or six deep all the way down. The only Blue train that stopped barely gave enough time to let out its passengers, much less board new ones. Finally we received an update about a track fire. Everything was backed up, sharing the same track or closed down. I finally opted to back up to Farragut North and take a bus. I bumped into our webmaster/cataloger and we shared the commute down the scenic tour of Georgetown. At least I could sit down.
I apologize if I seemed snappish at the meeting. Obviously I was having a banner day.
In happier news, Comics Continuum is reporting that Justice League Unlimited's debut has been moved up a week to July 31st with "Starcrossed" finale repeating the week before.
