The parents have arrived from Florida. I listened to all the hurricane stories over dinner at Pulcinella. They got off extremely lucky, compared to some of their neighbors. The popular thing to be hit was the pool enclosure. They also mentioned taking a walk down the beach and seeing the after shots. All the horror stories of Weather Channel were completely true, including the roof just sitting there, with no idea what house or building it was attached to. Even their favorite Italian place Petrillo's received some damage. What wasn't hit by Frances was finished off by Jeanne.
I'm hoping we'll get some cleaning and organizing done while they're here, but who knows.
Mom gave me a cross-stitch a day calendar for next year. Like I really need more projects. I'm trying to finish off some of the older ones from my bins before I move on, at least while the urge is still there. I even found the two issues I have of "New Stitches" with the "Gods of Egypt". I'm missing one of the issues, although since it covers Isis and Osiris, maybe it's a sign? I shouldn't go looking through the New Stitches website; they have some tempting projects I've never seen, including another Horus project.
