Friday night

Actually have an excuse to use my Simon Marsden icon. I bought a "Haunted Realm" calendar last night at Whole Foods as my "fun" calendar for home. My work calendar is a USAA calendar with lots of military and veteran images. January is an aircraft carrier.

I had dinner with confettiofstars last night, staying up way way too late comparing notes on fandom to Photoshop tricks. I learned more than I ever wanted to know about "Knights of the Old Republic" games. Usually we disagree completely on characters. If she likes one, they leave me cold. Or if I'm enthuasiastic, she's all "Ugh". This time I actually had to admit none of the male characters wowed me. But at least now I can smile and nod knowledgably rather than giving a blank look. I was a little surprised some of the tricks I picked up in that GWU web design class were still moderately useful. I finally figured out how to create brushes in 5.5 from those image packs I see uploaded everywhere, so I don't feel completely clueless anymore.

And we lost. Our luck finally ran out this season. Holmgren can finally say he beat the Redskins. I don't know. Whenever sportscasters mention those "X has never done Y before" type stats, you just have an ugly feeling in the pit of your stomach that it's going to happen.

On the bright side, we did make the playoffs this year. I'm inclined to see the glass half full, instead of nearly empty.
