Sadly, I am wretchedly history challenged. I blame it all on a teacher I had in 7th grade who made us learn by rote and would stand a couple of us up individually and quiz us every day on what we were supposed to have read.

I lived in terror of her. I was always terribly shy so even if I knew what she asked quite often I'd bumble the answer in embarrassment and fear.

Needless to say, after that exposure to history I avoided all subsequent history classes like the plague.

I keep telling myself I ought to read more history stuff, but then my to be read pile already reaches to the moon... sigh.

Too many books (to read and to write) too little time...
