I've been wanting to get back into needlework recently. I blame [livejournal.com profile] neadods and [livejournal.com profile] havocthecat with all their knitting and crafty posts. I have to blame someone and they're handy. [livejournal.com profile] havocthecat especially gets it for mentioning the knit-stitch-along thingy. *glares* That means looking through my stacks of New Stitches and old charts/projects for ideas and then flailing over buying stuff. The DC area has a few needlework shops, including my usual standby, Needlewoman East. They're predominantly a needlepoint shop though. The other good choice unfortunately is way down in the boonies by Woodlawn. They had a great selection of samplers and cross stitch projects. I still haven't determined if any of the Connectors even go there. The Crystal City one died awhile back. They're another I remembered being in Fairfax city, but apparently they moved across from the Outback in Vienna! How have I missed this? Of course there's the usual crush of Michaels, Joanns and AC Moore.

How very interesting... another shop Stitcher's Stash replaced the one that was in Fairfax at the same location. I could probably find that one. I'll have to see what the hours are. Usually LNS weekend hours are very limited.

I've set up a needlework blog at Wordpress. It'll probably get used as much as the Blended Leg one I started for the TW "Romeo & Juliet". I did however figure out how to login to the latter, so all is not too lost. If only I could figure out how to merge that account with the other blogger account I have. And indeed you can! I win! Once I've done it... of course.

Ah, good old Jo-Ann's and Michael's. I get a good bit of my jewelry-making stuff there, when I'm actually working on that sort of thing.

Down here there's an excellent craft store called Pearl, and looking at their website, I see there's one in Falls Church, Virginia. Although the site seems to be all about art supplies, the store here at least has the whole range of crafts. I know my mother has bought cross stitch materials from them.
