Completely randomly, I remember you saying something about wanting to learn more about 8th Doctor novels. You might want to check out dwbookclub. Our first book (which we're just now discussing) was a 7th Doctor novel, but there's a bunch of Eight on the 'available electronically' list and it might be a good 'foot in the door' kind of thing.
