And I'm not even a soccer fan, but it seemed oddly appropriate. The first CVS meeting of the year focused a lot on talking about the previous year and the goals for the coming year. I have decided I need to hand crank the Model T so I impulsively signed up for February 19th to submit something for the group. It will probably be something "new to them" project, unless a completely new WIP appears before me. Could happen. You never know with my muses.
I'm acquiring a dayplanner of sorts, but more for writerly aspects. I don't quite need the hourly planner yet. At the meeting, Jenn passed around one of the SF Writers Weekly Planners for everyone to look at. Very cool. I remember hearing about them earlier, but was undecided until I actually saw one for myself. I loved the back section for including notes and info on writing projects. I was also vastly amused when I flipped open to my birthday week and saw a snippet from Staying Dead opposite the page. Then I remembered Laura and my birthdays are both in that same week or thereabouts. (And the book is being released in August which I'd forgotten. Oops.) But I was still very amused.
Despite the holiday, we had a largish turnout. I'm so glad
iced_spice was finally able to make a meeting. Our meetings do vary widely between all business and nattering sessions to other ones with critiquing and writing exercises.
I was also glad
ariadnesthread found the used bookstore I visited for Dad's Christmas book. I had spotted a 1904 one volume edition of the Child Ballads and remembered our discussion about the book at World Fantasy Con and how hard it was to find. *grins* What can I say? I am an Evil Bookfinder in Training.
TMI- ugh, utterly bloated. Lovely way to ring in the New Year.
Hopefully skating Saturday if the ice isn't too slushy. The highs were supposed to be in the 60s and the rink is outdoors.
