So the weather guys were right for once. We're getting hit by the first big storm of the year. The balcony of my building is filling up with nice powdery fluffy white stuff. Knowing my luck, I'll still have to trudge into work tomorrow.
Watched the last couple of awards for Golden Globes. Oscars could be very interesting or very disappointing.

Date: 2004-01-26 08:29 am (UTC)Made it in to work by 10:00 after passing a couple of cars stuck nose first into the side ditches. I'm not looking forward to the ice as it'll make the ride home twice as long - but who knows maybe it'll mean I don't have to come in tomorrow.
I caught the Golden Globes as well and loved Bill Murray's acceptance speech. My two favorite excerpts:
"I would thank the people at Universal and Focus, but there's so many people trying to take credit for this I wouldn't know where to begin."
"I think it's too often we forget our brothers on the other side of the aisle - the dramatic actors. And I'd just like to say without them, where would our war, our misery and our psychological dramas come from? Let's not forget them tonight." - Bill Murray, best actor or musical comedy winner for "Lost in Translation."
Nothing like taking being the "step-child" of the award categories and treating with comedy.
I also received confirmation on my view that Charlize Theron is perhaps the most beautiful actress currently working. She wore a lovely yellow dress and outshined even Nicole Kidman. Meanwhile, I was wearing blue sweat bottoms and a t-shirt as I fought off a fever yet again (the doc now has me on the 2nd anti-biotic, my decongestant, and now steroids - wonder if I can finally qualify for the 2004 Olympics now).
