I'm less fond of Monday holidays suddenly. I normally mail my timesheets on Friday, so no mail means it won't arrive on time. So I won't receive that check until next week. Added with my time off for my illnesses, I've had a real banner week on the money front.

CVS meeting was surprisingly smaller than usual, so Kinko's inability to open a simple Word file was no real loss. Now that I'm done on that rewrite, I need to start plotting and scheming my next big project. It's an older one that keeps mutating and changing as I learn more details. (Or find people to ask the right/wrong questions). We spent a lot of the meeting discussing our sticking points with certain stories we're writing.

EDIT: Normally I avoid posting on political matters, but several people, including [livejournal.com profile] iced_spice and [livejournal.com profile] fgwriter, mentioned an interest in the recent "Economic Report of the President". This was the report that said outsourcing to other countries might be good for the American economy in the long run and predicted a creation of 2.6 million jobs. Bush and other Republicans are strangely disavowing or backtracking from this report in the media recently. The document is searchable. The pertinent outsourcing is in Chapters 2 and 12 and the overview.

Well, the CEA are basically more about theory, IIRC. (I did a long paper on them in college, but that was a long time ago!) In theory, they might be right. But whether it's good for AMERICANS in the short *or* long run is another matter entirely. The jobs thing seems especially counterintuitive.
