Two interviews

The two interviews went well. The law firm was way up Connecticut Avenue near where Mystery Books used to be in Dupont Circle. Basically they would want someone to come in a few days a week to do most of the routine stuff like mail and shelving. They also gave me a test for basic math, spelling and grammar. The WENN fan in me did a doubletake when the receptionist was named Betty and the HR person was named Hilary!
The govt agency library liked me so much they called my temp agency almost immediately. I was interviewed by three people which was a little overwhelming. They were a little too impressed by my web design skills; I wish I could say I've *used* that certificate from GWU! I'm going to wait until Monday to see if the law firm calls or not before I make the final decision, but I suspect I'll go with them. The hours will take a lot of getting used to. The main reason I need to be there *that* early is the newspapers. They receive hundreds of newspapers every day and they all have to be routed to someone, usually muckety-mucks who need their morning Wall Street Journal *now*. Oye.
I had some time to kill between interviews so I saw some of the National Building Museum. Neat place. Of course if a building museum doesn't have impressive architecture there is a problem! This place has *massive* ceilings. I can see how it could be used for function space. Neater museum shop with lots of books on architecture and buildings. They were having an exhibit on transit from streetcars to cars to Metro, etc. They had some old before and after photos of how the areas around mass transit stations have grown up. The Ballston-Court House wing of the Orange Line has especially sprouted in the last few years.
