I hate rainstorms. They usually bring the high humidity which my apartment just seems to swallow and store somewhere. So needless to say, I was glad to get out of the apartment for a little while before Worlds starts. The baseball teams have returned to the park across the street. I can hear the clank of the aluminum bats.
I finally went by Hole in the Wall books for my pile of comics. The store owner was a little grumpy at me for not buying four or five months of a title I had on order. I've been trying to cut my losses, especially with the changes coming for the X-titles in general. The shop is however having a 1/2 off sale on all their used books. I found a Gregory Frost book and Mark Helprin's "Winter's Tale" which I think has been recced to me at some point.
I found some cross stitch charts at the local needlework store, mostly pretty Celtic pieces. I didn't see a lot that interested me otherwise. My regular store is traditional heavy in needlepoint canvases and the ultra cross-stitch stuff like "Just Nan" and MLI. I really need to get back to my stitching projects. If nothing else, I need to see where they are, progress wise. At least one I know needs some beading done.
I made my hotel and plane reservations for Media West. I won't be getting into Lansing until late Thursday. Still waitlisted on the con hotel, but somehow I don't think I'm going to get a room.
