The Olympics are over. Now we can wait for athletes to hit the slopes and ice in Torino. Bejing sounds like they're excited for the next Summer Games if they're ahead of schedule preparations are any indication.

I'm in Olympic withdrawl already. Given that I watch little to no regular American television, it's going to be very strange to have the TV dark and silent tonight.

It was nice to hear Beijing is ahead of schedule with preparations. I imagine we're going to find out soon whether New York gets the Games in 2012 -- and whether they do depends on how they handle the Republican mess this week. >.

The complication with New York getting the Olympics in 2012 is whether, given the current regulations and political climate, the athletes and their coaches and families would be able to get visas (1) on time, (2) without a huge hassle, (3) at all.
