The CVS are going to be rather tired of each other by the week's end. Besides our regular meeting and a writing marathon, B&N hosted a rather small open house for the various book clubs last night. I met the Journaling and Contemporary Literature moderators. I found out the WWI reading group is unofficially meeting at B&N and they didn't have a representative there. I was hoping to snag a reading list since they're always opposite us. Instead I came away with copies of Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon and Quicksilver.
The idiocy came coming home. Jenn talked me into heading to Ben & Jerry's for ice cream. I usually have a double scoop of chocolate with hot fudge. She asked me to take away my cup this time because she had gotten chocolate stains picking it up the last time. No big deal, I thought, except that I was holding several bags and trying to open our front door. Cup tipped and dribbled on the B&N bag... and the edges of the new hardcover. *sigh* Like I say, I'm an idiot. It isn't *that* bad, but it isn't the pretty new book anymore.
