Bye bye summer

Brrr. I think we can safely say that summer is gone. I woke up to the fine chill in the air in my apartment. The high is only supposed to reach 60 degrees around here. At least the humidity is back to my kind of normal. But if this is fall, I'm half afraid of what is coming for winter.

Periodic journal mention: I do have two other regular journals. [livejournal.com profile] hildy is mostly about my RL stuff and anything I find interesting to post on. [livejournal.com profile] wabbitseason is for fannish and RPG related materials, although there are the occasional lemmings cropping up. [livejournal.com profile] nanonano is my journal chronicling my NaNoWriMo attempts, although I might mention my progress in the other two. I try to keep the crossover content to a minimum. I'm all about compartmentalizing here.

Weekend will probably entail picking up comics and cleaning the apartment, since next weekend my parents take me down to Williamsburg and environs.

Catwoman

Halle Berry as that other Catwoman

Synopsis I found )

Very loosely based at that.

How many ways can I say "Ick"? I'm reminded of the question why the Huntress in "Birds of Prey" was running around in a costume made by Victoria's Secret. Only this time she appears to have added a whip and some sandals? Don't get me wrong. Halle Berry is a very talented actress. But this one is going to be a definite miss at the box office. Bad enough they're not using the Selina Kyle background... but I liked Old School Catwoman with the purple dress and black boots. The newer version makes more sense in the current day, but that's the fun of rereading the old stuff.

Trilogy Tuesday

The official LoTR movie site has a list of theaters where they'll be showing the trilogy back-to-back on December 16th. It looks like I'd have to go over to the Uptown for my fix, because otherwise it'd be down in Richmond.

Signs of the Apocalypse?

I always hear jokes about God being a Cubs fan.

Clearly Mother Nature is not.

Right after the opening lineups were announced, the skies opened.

I don't know whether to be amused or not.
