The "FLIP" disease

I do so love Connie Willis' "Bellwether". I was reminded of her dreaded "Flip" character today unfortunately. I was receiving email alerts for one magazine on my old address. How hard could it be to change it to the new one? I changed it in the system. It didn't appear to take so I emailed their support. They said they'd deal with it. I started receiving the alerts on the new one. That was that. Until I started still getting messages at my old email account. I tried to explain that when they checked back with me. They apologized that it appeared I *wasn't* getting the alerts at all, even though I explained I was simply double subbed.

At least I'm not receiving petri dishes or Hula Hoops... or po-mo pink hair ribbons.
