Manga and hair color on Sequential Tart
May. 16th, 2004 04:47 pmI'm back from Philly. I will post seperately on those adventures, although the photos may have to wait until I finish the roll of film.
sequentialtart has its own LJ now. I found an interesting four part article by Margaret O'Connell called "Why Is Manga and Anime Characters' Hair All the Colors of the Rainbow?", discussing the difficulties in determining hair color in manga series. (I maintain my old fan days of JEM prepared me for the multi-hued characters of manga and anime, although I never had any trouble accepting Max or Miriya's hair colors. I was just weirded out seeing Pizzazz with green hair in the flashbacks.)
Overview
part 1:
part 2: Otherworldly Shades
part 3: Blonds are Trouble
part 4: When Is a Blond Not a Blond?
For those of my flist who don't know, JK Rowling has an official site. Some of the info is creating the usual waves and wank.
