So I finally got around to watching the first Jon Pertwee episode that aired on MPT. It was also the first appearance of the evil mannequins aka "the Autons". They really weren't that different than their recent appearance. Their faces might look a little more realistic and they dress differently, but otherwise, if you've seen one lifelike mannequin, you've seen them all, right? Alas the dvr cut off right at the end, when the Doctor and harried Brigadier were discussing "terms". The funniest bits were at the beginning of the episode when the Doctor was getting used to his new face. I couldn't help thinking of Nine in "Rose" looking at a mirror. "Could be worse. Look at the ears!"

Spearhead is fun stuff, innit? And Pertwee has a great Master, great companions, and a fab UNIT/Brigadier thing going on. :)

I enjoyed it quite a lot. I was a little surprised, given what little I remembered of what I'd seen of the Pertwee episodes.

They're good-natured, slightly ironic, and very British action-adventure romps in the '70s. Can't go too far wrong. :)
