I'm home. I'm only moderately awake. The sedatives make you a little out of it, but not nearly as much as I remember for the wisdom teeth. Pretty painless and quick. I literally blinked and was done. They took you into this recovery room that reminded me more of a beauty parlor with large easy chairs. The results are mostly expected: gastritis with a hiatal hernia. The latter is what caused the heartburn there. He took a bunch of tissue samples to see if anything is really out of the ordinary. Dr. H does think I have a slow stomach based on his readings. He doesn't think I need the stomach emptying test. We're still a go for the colonscopy, so hopefully that'll explain my other issues. At least we know part of the problem.

Now I just want to sleeep. And something to drink. And maybe someone to finish my Nano for me?

[livejournal.com profile] dragonscholar just had both these tests done last Thursday as his Dr was worried he had Chron's because his wound was healing too slow. Fortunately all turned out negative YAY! (As i hope your tests turn out either negative, or to give you the answers that you need)

He was pretty much out of commission until at least Friday evening and his gut still aches from the biopsies they took as well as the test itself.

He did both on the same day? I never remember having that option. I'm dreading the colonoscopy on Wednesday. That prep looks like it's going to be brutal. The endoscopy only hurt my throat for a day or so, along with the usual bruise from the over zealous technician. My sympathies to husband. Hope he gets better soon.

He thought they were only going to do the one, but when we got there they said they were doing both. he was out a couple hours, but other than a little sore, he's no worse for wear.

Basically they have him some gallon of something to drink that basically cleaned out his system and was on a clear liquid diet.

He definately needed someone to drive him home as he was pretty much down for the count for the rest of the day and was still a bit fuzzy the next day.

Yep, I start the gallon of what I jokingly refer to as battery acid tomorrow before my test. Joy. My parents are conveying me to and fro. I wasn't that bad after the first test, but I suspect this one will be a tad more complicated. Then again, I'm only doing the one.
