The Golden Compass movie site is gorgeous. I've started the first book a few times, but it hasn't quite grabbed me. Maybe it's another LotR with me.

The first book (listened to the recorded book) sucked me in entirely and I couldn't wait for the second one.

The second one... meh.

I figured I'd give the third one a try, in case the second one was an aberration.

The third one was bad bad bad on oh so many levels. That's Bad with a Capital B and that rhymes with B and that stands for Bad.

The third one was bad.
