*sigh* Obviously I'm more forgetful than I thought. I managed to leave my hat behind yesterday. Fortunately the hat was at the restaurant and not the movie theater. That place was a total madhouse last night with umpteen lines for about three showings fifteen minutes apart, plus the one for people actually buying tickets. Then the credit card machine picked a magnificent time to crash, sending people scurrying for the ATMs. We won't even discuss cell phones or whatever other extracurricular activities our showing's audience appeared to be participating in...

I missed the Preakness, so I've had to make do with the news reports. I'm not sure what to make of it since we've had quite a number of horses in the last decade who've won the first two only to fade later. The Kentucky crowd would probably be horrified if a New York bred won the first Triple Crown in 25 years. Ah well, onward to the Belmont... probably to hear Linda Eder singing "New York, New York" *yet* again.
