Manga article

Publishers Weekly has a long article on manga publishing, including news Viz intends to bundle manga and anime together. Pity Viz actually doesn't publish any titles I read these days. (Then again, given the complaints I've heard about Viz, maybe that's a good thing, rather than tearing my hair out all the time.) I used to read them when they were the early bird on the manga scene along with Eclipse. Then I gave over to Tokyopop. My BDaltons continues to be the most disorganized manga displays in the Known World. The idea of a book dump or an end cap is to display several copies of the same title. Their attitude seems to be of the idea that "We don't have room to shelve all these so let's put them all in jumble in the bookdump where no one will look. Except that person who comes in every day."

Date: 2003-10-23 09:48 am (UTC)I'm holding my breath because they are about to start carrying the manga versions of two of my all-time favorite anime -- Hikaru no Go and Saint Seiya -- in Shonen Jump. If I catch anything butchered in either one, they *will* be getting a nasty E-mail from me. (Of course, there is no way in hell they can mutilate Saint Seiya worse than DiC has).
