Redskins again figured out how to snap defeat from the jaws of victory. Color me surprised. Although I'm glad they found a decent second quarterback, if it doesn't start up the call. I swear the two words every Redskins fan learns is "quarterback controversy." I learned "Where ball?" first when my Dad was teaching me about fumbles.

I wrote another 3K tonight, so I'm just over 39000 words. The end really is nigh. I just hope it coincides with the end of the story.

Off to sleep. I go to a new job tomorrow, so I want to make an excellent impression. Or at least manage to be on time.

I was very impressed with Hasselback's performance. He had a lot of pressure and a lot of question marks by his name, and I think they were effectively taken care of last night.

I was really annoyed by the play-calling, though. He does a wonderful job moving the ball slowly down the field, using short passes, runs, etc. Why do you go back to making him fire it all the way down the field? Especially when the score is getting closer and closer???

Er, uh, not that I watch football or anything . . .

"You're not a real Washingtonian 'till the Redskins have broken your heart"--Local saying.

Then I'm clearly a Washingtonian, because I've lost count of the times I've had my heart broken, starting with that Raiders Super Bowl.

You mean the year the Cowboys only won one game and it was against us? Not like I'm bitter or have a long memory or anything...

What's the firm, btw? (e-mail to wrensergei at lycos.com is okay if you don't want to post it). I have a friend who works at one of the biggies, and it would be amusing if you ended up a) where she is or b) where she just left...
