End of an era approaching
May. 29th, 2009 01:44 pmI'm finally hitting critical mass as far as my apartment is concerned. It's time to declutter stuff. One thing that I've wanted to deal with is the vhs collection. The bulk of the collection is stuff I've recorded off television. The professionally tapes, with some odd exceptions, will go off to the library for their Friends of the Library sale. The rest of the stuff I'm not sure what I'll do. I've looked at recycling options, but there isn't a lot of inexpensive options out there. Greendisk sounds great for a company, but lousy for private citizens. I feel guilty as hell just tossing stuff, but I don't know any other options. Most of the friends that would like the stuff I have already have the dvd sets. And the only one I know clinging to VHS has very different TV/movie tastes. So I'm going through the stacks see what I can chuck and what I keep until dvd sets are available. Buffy and Babylon 5 are the big ones that are going as is Pretender. Skating and Another World and WENN are staying put as are more obscure series. Hopefully that'll clear up some space.
