Ellery Queen update

TVShowsondvd posted an update on the Ellery Queen dvds. I'm curious about the running time since there were 23 episodes (one was 90 minute pilot). But as far as I'm concerned the important part of the news is the release date -- August 24th -- two days before my birthday. It's like they know me or something.

Ellery!

You wouldn't believe the squeal of delight I uttered when I saw this news pop up on my Twitter feed! The news isn't definite by a long shot, but it sounds very very hopeful. I'd love to have a real dvd set to replace the ancient A&E tapes and other copies.

And amused as hell watching his son now on Leverage -- and startled at the resemblance especially when Nate was playing the dodgy academic in "Fairy Godparents Job".

Today in history: 68 years ago, a zeppelin fell out of the sky in Lakehurst, New Jersey. Her name was Hindenburg. Herb Morrison recorded the legendary event for posterity.

Gumshoe Who Wore Pince-Nez: Columbia is having an exhibit on Ellery Queen through June 30th for the detective's (and both writers') 100th birthday. I missed the symposium at the end of last month. Want to go, will have to research New York again.
