Staying home
Sep. 18th, 2003 11:01 amThe federal government and everything else in the DC area closed down. Even writers group opted to cancel our Thursday meeting, beginning the autumn of the Thursday Curse. I swear if there has been a type of storm, we've had it on Thursday. Someday I'll check email to learn we've canceled on account of a plague of frogs... somehow it would fit.
I'm actually relieved to be staying home. I didn't want to think about coming home in this mess. Beating a snowstorm home is one thing, but avoiding the wind and rain is quite another! Hopefully we won't lose power.
I had to spend some time chatting with Verizon. Apparently some idiot programmer switched off my voicemail option on my main phone. I can only hope I haven't missed anything critical.
Right now, I'm just watching wind blowing the trees a little and hearing police sirens... this is going to be a fun time to live on a main drag.
