Alive and well
Sep. 19th, 2003 09:54 amTrue to predictions Isabel blew through here from 2pm Thursday to 2am Friday. The worst came over night when everyone was sleeping. You could hear the wind through the corridors of my apartment building which was mildly unsettling. It rained almost nonstop. The power dimmed a few times during the evening, but we never lost power, which was a relief. I actually turned the dehumidifier down because I was afraid it was pulling too much power. The rest of the flooding may happen Saturday as the Potomac receives all the runoff from the other parts of the area. The government shut down for a second day. At least I won't feel obliged to curl up in a safe corner with radio and fic notebook in hand today.
