Rain, rain, rain, why must you always make a Monday even more depressing than usual? I was all stoked about coming to work an hour earlier and heard the pouring rain start just as I was about to leave. The weather forecaster even said "It's mostly light rain except this moderate storm right over Arlington." Gee, guys, yes, there are people who strangely live closer than Bethesda or Manassas on your little map.

I added a feed for my needlework blog at [livejournal.com profile] blendedleg if anyone else is remotely interested besides me. I'll be putting any BGAL and project updates and shopping sprees and Stitcher Blogging Questions... all the fun stuff.

Chicago Tribune's Eric Zorn has a blog entry about baby names. He mentions the fact that Madison continues to be in the top 5 of baby girl names. The top 500 also includes several variants on the name. Aside from the Daryl Hannah connection, he wonders what the current reasons for its popularity. More likely it's the same fad for unisex names one that gives out names like Mackenzie and Peyton. Interestingly the most popular girls name are the twin Ems of Emily and Emma. Biblical names are popular for boys topped by Jacob.

The Social Security Administration has a searchable database so you can see where your name rates or doesn't, going back 100 years or so.
