If you happen to buy the Sonic Screwdriver Flashlight, don't panic when it doesn't work straight out of the box. I opened mine yesterday and discovered this. After everything that happened at MWC, I was prepared for the worst case scenario. I felt like a silly kid with my own new Christmas toy and worried I'd broken it already. Nowhere is it mentioned on the packaging or instructions, but there's a tab inside that blocks the flashlight from working. Once you've removed that, it lights up with an ominous blue light. I solemnly promise I won't try to open my door with it. I might search for missing keys though.
I'm on a Big Finish roll. The last two MWC have left me diving back into the Whoverse. I listened to "The Blue Tooth" Companion Chronicle featuring Caroline John reprising her role as the divine Liz Shaw. Caroline's voice sounded just different enough that I can see why she hasn't reprised Liz that often, unless you picture this as the older and wiser Liz looking back on her experiences. She carried the bulk of the story with only Nicholas Briggs to bounce of. She even provides the "voices" of Three and the Brigadier. Their characterization didn't feel that off, but I'm torn about part of Liz's own. In her few appearances, Liz always came off in the series as a nice meld between the mod British girl and the brainy scientist, proving you could be both. Maybe they decided that was too Sueish or something, but "The Blue Tooth" would make you think it wasn't her idea at all, influenced more by her choice of girlfriends than anything else. I'm not a fan of the Cybermen stories, so the story itself didn't wow me exactly. I could though picture Three's sad reaction at the end of the program at Brigadier's approach to eliminating the remaining Cybermen. I still want to write that Liz encounter with Harriet Jones. I still have "Spearhead from Space" from Netflix so I can rewatch her first adventure.

suzy_queue, I've ahemed the first season of "Torchwood" for a weekend marathon. I know who to blame for this. *stern glare*
