It just rains more. The entire office has been sick, so people have been in and out, hacking and coughing appropriately. I have been fighting it off for a few days until last night when I felt everything hit me like a ton of bricks. So I went to the doctor and will be staying home for the next two days. No writing meeting for me, no hunting down anime or visiting the wayward comics shop, just curled up at home. (Never mind I actually wound up ordering the anime anyway, because the local shop still doesn't carry WHR or Pretear. They had one copy of WHR and sold it. Someone said "Well then they didn't have any preorders". It wasn't on their list of approved preorders, so how could they in the first place? The vicious cycle of retail continues...)
Fortunately I did pack a book to read for the trek out to the doctor. I had picked up Kage Baker's Company novella
The Angel in the Darkness while I was at WFC but hadn't had a chance to actually read it yet. It's quite interesting so far. Anyone know what
mi hija means in Spanish? From context, I'm guessing it's an endearment of some sort to relatives, yes? (I was vastly amused that one of the cover illustrators was named J.K. Potter.)
