hildy89: (we're all mad here)
Manga article from Eclipse Magazine: Mainly focuses on the Viz titles, including FMA and the upcoming Shoujo Beat titles.

Obviously [livejournal.com profile] ithurtsmybrain has had a bad effect on my anime watching. I was watching the latest two volumes of ROD TV over the weekend and decided it might be fun to crossover Yomiko Readman and Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next. What would Jurisfiction do with a Paper Master? And then I was reading "Lost in a Good Book" and one of the opening bits for each chapter comments on certain urban legends Thursday knows including that Spoiler? ). It sounds a lot like Mr. Gentleman in the tv series, doesn't it?

On the other hand, I still couldn't watch the first episode of ROD TV volume 4 without visible cringing. It has nearly four years, but there are some images that are burned into your brain.

GIP from [livejournal.com profile] wiliqueen. I do miss "Witchblade", even if it got a little weird in the second season.

*whew* It’s been busy around here lately. What’s the old saying about it being either feast or famine? Obviously I’ve hit the flood stage. After two days of the shelving job, I tried to run some organizing errands with my parents. I have fewer boxes, which helps in the space issues in this apartment. I now have a lovely coffee table from Value City with two large drawers and tray area underneath. It’ll take some getting used to. I keep bumping into the one corner. We also upgraded my cell phone, after a wild goose chase trying to find the store. Proof positive you can live here for years and still have no clue where you are in Northern Virginia. There was some sad family news, so my parents will be taking a detour before heading back home.

G4TechTV is showing RODTV as part of their "Anime Unleashed" at midnight. Why didn't anyone tell me these things? They should have announced it last month, so I could plan. *sighs*
hildy89: (wintersweet)
Hm, so reports have the "Read or Die" OVA popping up on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim", along with the first InuYasha movie. My only worry is I've heard they've stuffed into an hour timeslot. RoD is 90 minutes. Even editing the credits down, some bits will have to go. *sighs* I wonder if the TV show is far behind...

In semi-related news, article on The Librarian tv movie from TNT with Noah Wyle.

what kind of social software are you?

One piece of good news discovered today: ROD TV's first DVD will be released on June 29th from Geneon. There will be regular DVD and limited box version. Apparently each DVD will come with a limited mini pencil board. Since we've only got four or five episodes left, it can't come soon enough for this fan.
hildy89: (the paper)
*sigh* What is the old saying about habits being hard to break? I thought I'd escaped the recent anime craze. I went down that road with Robotech/Macross back when it aired originally. God that dates me horribly. Anyway, I remember trying in vain trying to find anime and manga titles, especially after attending the GMU Anime Festival. Now I can't walk into the average cd/video/bookstore without tripping over the stuff. This is the girl who wrote an English paper on Japanese manga because she had read "Manga! Manga!" by Frederick Schodt. (I'm surprised for its popularity the "Rose of Versailles" hasn't appeared in full translation yet.) And then I find a bibliophile's anime... I'm doomed, categorically doomed.
